Investigating Local Cultural Attitudes through Digital Curation: Digital Storytelling and Tainan's Puji Temple

摘要:

This study explores public attitudes toward promoting local culture through digital curation and digital storytelling using Tainan's Puji Temple as the research object. The research methods included a survey questionnaire and an experiment. First, this study used digital storytelling technology to create the "Visible Culture" digital exhibition through digital curation. Second, this study used Thurstone scales to conduct pre- and post-test survey questionnaires. We compared those who had visited Puji Temple with those who had never visited. Then, we performed semi-structured interviews to gain an in-depth understanding of the respondents' perceptions and opinions. Finally, this study used paired sample t-tests to verify the impact of digital curation and digital storytelling on local cultural attitudes. The research results indicate that the application of digital storytelling had a significantly positive effect on people who had never visited Puji Temple, causing them to develop a more positive attitude toward local culture. The results provide empirical evidence for digital curation methods and content planning and accentuate the potential of digital storytelling for promoting local culture.
